"Breaking EDA Barriers...Silos to Seamless RF Design Automation"

June 3rd, 8pm
Room 606-607

Today, RF products require designers to operate in numerous design environments which do not interact easily or at all. As the integration of RF products advances such as LTCC, and RFCMOS, the requirements of the RF design environments demands hierarchical design capabilites. What are the requirements of the RF industry and what is the justification to the EDA suppliers to begin taking the challenge of new RF design capabilities?

  • Topics to be discussed
    1. Top Down System Simulation to RF Implementation for Ics and Modules are Separate Design Environments -Advantages and Disadvantages.
    2. Evolution and Commodity Demands of Cellular have changed the RF design requirements - do the EDA solutions keep pace with these changes?
    3. How are the tools used today? What is the ideal usage model?
    4. What is broken and why do the silos exist?
    5. RFICs, RF Modules, RF Systems all require different design environments for one product
    6. What is the potential ROI for the EDA suppliers?
